How
our website works:
When you first visit our website you normally are greeted by what is
called our "Home
Page."
It is filled with underscored
"links."
In the center column of the Home Page you will find links labeled
and
"Site Map (initial visitors start here)."
The center column also
may possibly someday contain
a link to a "Associates Portal." This will be a special link for those with appropriate passwords. Newsletter
subscribers, website sponsors and club members will each have access to
ascending levels of non-public information.
The
main feature of the center column is presently a listing of current Kiwanis and Rosemead
related news items, frequently with additional links. At the bottom of the
column is a link to the
"Prior
News Archive."
To the left and right sides of the Home Page are a number of links to other
pages on the website.
Letting your mouse hover over any link frequently causes a
brief summary of the link to appear. Clicking on any link causes another
window to open to the desired page.
It is likely that you reached this Site Map page by clicking on the
Home Page link labeled
"Site
Map."
What
the Site Map page is all about:
The site map page (which is what you are reading right now) repeats all the non-news links on the Home Page. In most cases their summaries (discussed above) are printed out. A little additional information about each link is also given. This is intended to help visitors easily learn about and access materials available on our website.
ROSEMEAD KIWANIS STUDENT FORUM (Inactive)
This is a resource that was designed for Intermediate and High School students to ask questions and get hopefully authoritative and accurate replies. The idea was for questions to be gathered around 5:00 Sunday-Thursday when the next day is a school day with answers generally being posted the same night. The concept was that we wouldn't do people's homework for them but we would suggest resources and explain concepts. However, problems arose with confidentiality rules, publicizing the service, and the proliferation of similar services on the Internet. As a result the feature is inactive and other uses are being considered.
