UPCOMING MEETINGS AND EVENTS:

NOTE: Information below is subject to change (9/25 and 10/30 info has been significantly altered from last week)

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2008 – RKC MEETING: (Regular Meeting)*

Savannah Cemetery - Bob Bruesch will share with us the story of Rosemead’s own historic resting place. Founded in 1850 and located at Valley Bl. and Mission Dr., Savannah Memorial Park is one of the most historic cemeteries in the San Gabriel Valley. It represents the exploration and settlement of this area. Unfortunately, an Endowment Care Fund that would have fully provided for the future maintenance and care of the still active cemetery was never established.  This has proved a challenge for modern preservationists. Our speaker, and our club’s President Elect, is part of the Board seeking to remedy this problem in the 21st Century.
