Thursday, April 24, 2008 - California Youth Authority  (Regular Meeting)*

MAY 3-4 – CRIB PROJECT 2008 – This will be the wind-up of a program coordinated by the Sisters In Deed outreach and cooperating church groups designed to help the Pregnancy Help Center by collecting infant related items. This center, located at 5626 N. Rosemead Blvd (www.phc-sgv.org) supports young mothers with training, baby items, clothing, and counseling.  Call our Kiwanis Rosemead Reporter editor at 626/292-6550 for donation location details and further information (see also attached flyer).

MAY 14 – COMMUNITY SAFETY MEETING - the second of what will be a monthly series of meetings on public safety issues will be held at the Public Safety Center, 830-1 Garvey Avenue.  Sponsored by the City of Rosemead with support from the Sheriff’s Department, Rosemead Kiwanis members and other groups these meetings will help harden the target against crime and deal with other safety and disaster preparedness issues,.

MAY 17 – CELEBRATION OF CHARITY - Rosemead‘s talented youth know how to sing. Local spiritual groups help numerous overseas missions and orphanages, but they also address needs in the local community.  On this special afternoon at Rosemead’s United Methodist Church, beginning at 3:00, both groups will give interested community members a chance to enjoy outstanding singing and learn about service opportunities. The Church is located at 9032 Mission, just east of Rosemead Blvd.

MAY 28 – FASHION SHOW California Mission Inn, which for decades has been the situs of our Rosemead Kiwanis meetings, will be hosting a fashion show by Drapers and Damons on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, from 2:00-4:00 in the Inn’s chapel. The show is free, but seating is expected to be limited and reservations are required.
