   Greetings to our K-Family (Kiwanis affiliated group of clubs) and other friends.

      of the top ten stories of Rosemead Kiwanis, the K-Family, and the Kiwanis Network

In addition to the specific projects above there are numerous ongoing activities worthy of note. These include Kiwanis network support of the Temple Algebra Academy; crochet classes at Garvey and Muscatel Intermediate schools; Kiwanis sponsored youth and physically challenged adults program; farm cities program; Union Station meals for the homeless; neonatal caps; forest tree replanting; Octoberfest in support of Savannah Cemetery; numerous walkathons; Science Olympiad; Special Olympics; Rosemead Kiwanis Foundation grants etc.

 

And of course there are the speakers at our traditional Thursday Club meetings

 

EVENTS:

 

     Thursday, January 3, 2008 –

             Roundtable Discussion of sub-prime mortgages, with opportunity for

                         response and feedback from Kiwanis members (This meeting features a

                         periodic alternative format used by our Club for members to exchange

                         ideas and viewpoints on various topics.

 

      Thursday, January 10, 2008 –

            Fundraising Tenets - Anthony Robles, Rosemead Kiwanian whose firm

            specializes in fundraising assistance for government and charitable groups,

            shares principles which may help in our own ongoing efforts.

 

       Thursday, January 17, 2008 –

            Rosemead Report - Oliver Chi  The City Manager of Rosemead reviews

            the status of the city during past year and prospects for the future.
