Christmas in America
A blessed time of year
Children laugh and carolers sing
Sentiments of cheer
Family, friends and food and fun
And sleigh rides down the lane
And all will make a joyful noise
To praise the newborn king
America, America
Its Christmas time once more
Christmas trees and holly leaves
Mistletoe above the door
Plans are made and pastries baked
And shoppers line the streets
To those who are less fortunate
We say a prayer for thee:
Dear Lord we pray this Christmas Day
Your love will lift us all.
And help us see our brothers' needs
Before we deck our halls.
And teach us how to give
The greatest gift we can hand out.
Love is what America and Christmas is about.
